Judge Issues Tentative Ruling in Favor of Expo Authority

New, 16 comments

Judge Thomas McKnew has issued a tentative ruling in favor of the Expo Line Construction Authority in the matter of that lawsuit brought by Westside group Neighbors for Smart Rail, reports the LA Weekly (the group sued, saying the environmental study was flawed).

NFSR is obviously not happy.

"This is just the prolongation of a fight that we've committed to until the end result," said Colleen Heller, vice president of NFSR, to the Weekly. "It ain't over till the fat lady sings." While an appeal is likely, Darrell Clarke, co-chair of Friends 4 Expo Transit, told the Weekly that the judge's tentative ruling would allow a construction contract for the Culver City to Santa Monica line to be awarded in February.
