Blogdowntown points out a little closed session item on the Metro board agenda for yesterday's meeting: "Conference with Real Estate Negotiator" for 800 North Alameda (Union Station's address) to discuss "terms and payment." ProLogis, a "global provider of distribution facilities" and the current owner of the 1939 Art Deco landmark, has stated it wants to soon sell its non-industrial properties, like the train station, according to blogdowntown. Metro may be angling to be more in direct control of Union Station as it expands its rail lines, not to mention the possibility of high-speed rail coming to the depot. [Blogdowntown]
