Disproving the newscasters in the traffic helicopter (but thank you for being so observant), the Los Angeles Times is quoting a Pentagon official as saying that the mystery rocket spotted last night is nothing more than a plane. The paper also quotes John Pike, director of globalsecurity.org, a website for military policy research. "The reason people think it's a rocket is because it's an optical illusion, he said. The plane is coming over the horizon, straight at the camera. Because of the angle and the lighting at sunset it appears as a rocket rising, he said. "I've seen a lot of rocket and airplane contrails over the years," he said. "What I saw was an airplane contrail." American Airlines to Seattle or beginning of the great rocket cover-up?
