There's not much new information in this Los Angeles Times story about a planned David Barton gym coming to West Hollywood (the deal has actually been in place for years). But what the story does offer: A look at the latest rendering. As designed, the Gensler-designed three-story project, which will rise on the old Tower Records site, would offer underground parking; retail on the ground floor; a David Barton gym/spa on the middle floor; and office space on the top floor. The latest proposal has a small pocket park--54 feet*--in the back, a move that was offered in response to neighbors' request for more green space, according to Marathon Communications' Brian Lewis, who is handling press for the project. (Since the beginning, the WeHo News has covered the story, and residents' concerns with the project.) it's expected the project will be heard before the WeHo Planning Commission early next year.
