Gensler-Led Haiti Benefit Tomorrow at Bergamot Station

New, 4 comments

SANTA MONICA: Perhaps everyone attending tomorrow's big earthquake conference at UCLA wants to hit up this event at the end of the day? Under the guidance of non-profit Operation USA, Gensler and engineering firm Miyamato International recently completed the first earthquake-proof school in Haiti. Located in Jacamel, the school is set to open on January 12, 2011, the one year anniversary of the quake. To celebrate the school's opening, and to showcase an exhibit of Hiati photographs taken since the disaster, Gensler is hosting a cocktail party/fundraiser open to the public tomorrow at the Peter Feldman Gallery at Bergamot Station. We're told there will be a Haitian rum bar, wine, hors doeurves and music, all donated by local LA businesses. The $25 entry fee will raise money to donate to the school’s operation. More info.
