The Daily Breeze reports that Marymount College's controversial bid to expand its campus in Rancho Palos Verdes was rejected by voters. "Councilman Brian Campbell - a critic of the initiative who is no stranger to hyperbole - said in an e-mail that the outcome was the "biggest political upset in Southern California history." Previously, the college tried to get its plan approved through the city, a process which frustrated Marymount executives.
