If you're jaywalking, you could be hit with a $190 fine, according to the Downtown News, which reports on LAPD's amped up efforts at catching pedestrian scofflaws in the central city. The effort, according to the police, is to the ensure the safety of walkers in the Historic Core, and Jewelery and Fashion Districts.
