When it comes to his Americana complex, developer Rick Caruso may not want to expand across the street , but he does want to expand in another direction. He wants to buy the nearby Golden Key hotel in Colorado Blvd, according to the 818 Now blog. But Caruso and the hotel's owner Ray Patel, aren't exactly pals. Patel sued the city of Glendale "to recover revenues he said he lost during the three-year construction of the Americana. He also has sued Caruso Affiliated, alleging the company broke an agreement regarding deliveries and garbage pickups near the hotel. Both of those claims are pending in court." Patel calls Caruso's talk of buying the hotel "another hurdle." [818 Now]
