It seems like a new giant inflatable chapel pops up in Silver Lake every week. This one, along with its accompanying 26 foot tall aluminum dome, is "Light Frames" by USC architecture professor Gail Peter Borden, and it's currently free and open to the public in Materials & Applications Silver Lake Boulevard exhibition courtyard. (Assembly photos here.) A press release says "Borden emphasizes the method of fabrication by truthfully exposing joints and exploiting the inherent structural qualities of the materials." "Light Frames" will be around through March 2011, check it out with your inflatable holy book of choice.
