The Pasadena Board of Zoning Appeals upheld a decision approving a sweeping restoration of the historic Constance Hotel on Colorado Blvd, a project that will also add a second phase in the form of a new six-story mixed-used building near the hotel, according to the Pasadena Star News. The Pasadena Coalition for Responsible Development appealed the project; acording to the paper, the "appeal listed 'significant issues' with traffic studies in the EIR and said that 'instead of meeting the affordable housing needs of households,' the project would 'create additional low-wage (hotel) jobs whose occupants will be in need of units.'"
