Never Mind the Bollards, Here's A European-Looking Downtown

New, 13 comments

Behold the Express News newsstand, which opened in the Los Angeles Police Department headquarters this past Monday. The bollards are a little unsightly, but the store is bringing newspapers, snacks, and cigarette-smoking men to the sidewalk off Main Street. Express News operator Shezy Khan tells us the newsstand is open five days a week (7:30 am-5pm), and will soon start carrying cold sandwiches from Brown Bag Sandwich Company. And business at the little stand is hopping-- Khan says he's selling out of the LA Times every day. How many LAT papers do you stock a day? 10, he told us. Go newsstands!
