L'Epicerie plywood in Culver City
BEVERLY CENTER: Sandwich and pie purveyor simplethings will open shortly on Third, near the mall, reports Eater. The timing is right, since The New York Times, which loves to declare what's in and what's out, says cupcakes are OVA and pies the thing to eat. Funny enough, a pie pop-up shop opened today in Echo Park, a place not at all concerned with being hip.
CULVER CITY: A little delay for L'Epicerie, a French market on Culver Boulevard (we know, the treats never stop in Culver City). The end of the month should bring copious amounts of coffee, ice cream, wine, cheese, and bread to this corner of the Westside.
HOLLYWOOD: The Redbury's Cleo may just be the best thing to emerge from Hollywood in 2010. The restaurant is on a roll with the good press, and here's the latest: Eater tells us Los Angeles Times food critic, S. Irene Virbila, was tickled pink by it (but she warned of the noise-levels).
LAS VEGAS: This is giving us bad memories of the Fashion Cafe--apparently there's a place opening in Sin City that will feature recipes of reality stars, as well as memorabilia from said celebrities. As Eater said, "oy."
