The Glendale News Press reports that a $1.7-million grant has been awarded to create a new park in South Glendale, one of the "city's densest neighborhoods," according to the paper. The park is part of the larger East Garfield Neighborhood Revitalization Project. Meanwhile, receiving the grant means that city can shuffle funds to help pay for a new a civic pool at Pacific Park. Last week, the city approved the $5.3-million, six-lane pool. [GNP]
