Who Plunked Down $50 Million for Bel Air's La Belvedere?

New, 10 comments

So who really owns Belvedere, the over-the-top Bel Air estate that sold earlier this summer? The Wall Street Journal reported there was a sale back in June, stating the home sold for $50 million. The paper covers the sale again today, but the guy who bought it in June is insisting that he doesn't actually own this little Bel Air shack."Public records list the buyer as Sarp Turanligil, owner of a Turkey-based yacht and furniture production company. A representative for Mr. Turanligil says he never owned the home, but was managing some business for a company that bought the home and is no longer affiliated with the property. The home has changed titles twice since it was purchased in June, to two different limited-liability corporations, according to public records." These LLCs are like Russian dolls that hide the real owner, so who owns this thing?
