Breaking: East Coast paper declares an art boom on in Los Angeles, with boards growing, fundraising multiplying, galleries thriving, and Eli Broads doing what Eli Broads do. More importantly, however, the Wall Street Journal has tipped us to what's got to be the party of the season this winter: Larry Gagosian will "host an art party to coincide with next year's Academy Awards" at his brand new A. Quincy Jones in Holmby Hills (Incidentally, he bought the house from internet entrepreneur David Bohnett, who's mentioned in the article as a LACMA trustee). [WSJ]
