And a Curbed reader just asked about this project: Plans are finally underway for Orchard Gables, the 1904 hybrid bungalow that sits unused next door to the Gatsby Hollywood townhouses. The Hollywood Community Housing Corporation hopes to start work in November on an exterior restoration and a conversion to offices and a public conference room. The Park La Brea News has a history of the site, which was deeded to early Hollywood settler Cornelius Cole by Henry Hancock (of the Park). The house was designed by Abbot Kinney. [Park La Brea News]
