Amid speculation, the wrecking ball will definitely get intimate with Cal Poly Pomona's distinctive student services/administrative building, school officials decided late last month. A release from the university doesn't make clear when the operationally-challenged structure will buy the farm, but it says the building that will replace it starts construction in 2013. A Japanese garden adjacent to the building will close during the work, but the hope is that a larger, lusher garden will open with the new CPP building. [Polycentric]
