Was everyone just getting away with parking for free before Los Angeles installed its new solar powered meters? The city announced today that the new guys, which account for a quarter of total meters, are currently pulling in 50% of the city's parking revenue, according to LAist. The total haul in September was $230,000, way above expectations, largely because the new meters don't break, and accept credit cards, according to Fox. [LAist, image via]
