The San Gabriel Valley Tribune reports that 800 people showed up to an LA County Regional Planning Commission hearing Wednesday night to protest the proposed Canyon Residences development in Rowland Heights. Developer Trammell Crow's project manager tells the paper 150 people were there in support. The Royal Vista Golf Course in Walnut was forced to let people park on the green, and inside it was standing room only as protesters jeered, stomped, and chanted "We say no." Trammell Crow originally proposed a 775 unit apartment complex for a site on Brea Canyon Cutoff Road owned by Southlands Church International. In August TC scaled back to 537 units. The hearing has been rescheduled for November.
