Bears Take Monrovia

New, 3 comments

In 2009, the Monrovia Police Department received 464 bear-related reports compared to 120 such reports in 2008, according to the San Gabriel Tribune, so now the City Council is considering bear-proof garbage containers, fines for anyone who violates the trash-removal ordinance, and electrical fences. Meanwhile, wardens currently fire bean bags at bears to keep them at bay. And the paper has a photo of what looks to be a mom bear in someone's yard, and the mom bear just looks so damn sad.
