Shot taken last May
Globe Street reports that 801 N. Fairfax, that new apartment/retail development right up the street from Melrose Avenue, and one of a handful of new projects in the neighborhood (including Cherokee Lofts), has leased all 93 units. Last May, the building, developed by local group Frost Chaddock, was advertising on Craigslist, and according to the paper, rents now range from $1,600 to $3,000. Meanwhile, only 60 percent of the 6,000 square feet of retail space is leased, which isn't surprising given that Fairfax (particularly as you head south) looks like a retail graveyard right now.
