The feds are printing more money for Torrance: Given the city's high unemployment rate, Torrance has qualified as being "blighted" and will receive almost $12 million in stimulus funds, reports the Daily Breeze. Per the government's stipulations, the funding has to be used right away--work has to begin by the end of 2010 and be completed by 2013. Torrance is eying a senior assisted living site on Hawthorne Boulevard, among other projects, according to the Breeze. [DB]
