Expect a lot of unhappy people to bring up the traffic issue on this one. Jeff Jacobberger, Chair of the Mid City West Community Council, writes in to let everyone know about a possible housing project right across from the Grove. He writes: "Casden Properties is proposing to put a 15-story, 300+ unit project at the southeast corner of West Third Street and Ogden, current site of a Ross Dress for Less Store (site of the methane explosion that derailed a Westside subway for a generation), and across the street from the Grove. The Mid City West Community Council's Land Use Committee will hold a preliminary meeting on the project on Wednesday, January 27, 2010, at 543 North Fairfax Avenue, Los Angeles, CA 90036. Current "Q" conditions at the site restrict height to 53 feet and require construction of 221 units of senior housing (this was part of a multi-parcel deal that paved the way for construction of the Palazzo)." Casden is the same developer fighting for its Movietown Plaza. Meanwhile, the shoppers in the crowd will have to fill everyone in on the merits of this particular Ross store. Good bargains?
