A cottage next to the canals in Venice is good living but it doesn't come cheap. But we can dream, can't we? Of canoeing down the canal to greet our neighbors, or feeding some ducks, or buying some fresh-squeezed lemonade from the kids' stand down the block. All the pleasures of small town living - but with water. The listing for this one bedroom on the canals claims it is "newly remodeled" with new bamboo and tile floors, "granite counter tops in new kitchen, new bath, refrigerator and new stove." Then it mentions the "new bath" again. That must be some bath. Water, trash and gardener are included. Monthly rent: $2,400.
