Fast Company reports on the rumor that MOCA's new director will be plucked from New York, namely gallerist and collector Jeffrey Deitch. Will Deitch, who has a reputation for championing lesser-known artists and throwing flashy art spectacles, help MOCA get back on track after a very tough year (one without a director since Jeremy Strick resigned in 2008)? The answer may have to wait, since MOCA postponed its press conference today to announce the new director due to scheduling conflicts. The board is voting to approve the appointment this morning. UPDATE: As expected MOCA confirms its new director is indeed Jeffrey Deitch. [Fast Company]
