WEST LA: Housing for elderly vets, we'll support it. Via the InBox, an announcement for a ground-breaking on Sept. 16th: "Please join Zev Yaroslavsky, Los Angeles County Supervisor, Third District, Paul Koretz, Los Angeles City Councilman, Fifth District, 10961 W. Pico Boulevard, at the northwest corner of Veteran Avenue, to celebrate the Groundbreaking of Pico Veteran Senior Housing. 46 state-of-the-art affordable senior apartments." The project was developed and managed by Menorah Housing Foundation. Let's hope it looks good inside. [Curbed InBox]

LOS ANGELES: If you want to get in on the upcoming Park(ing) Day--where scads of people park objects, as well as themselves in parking spaces--but don't really understand what to do or where do go, you may want to check out this workshop. "On September 5, 2009 @ 10 am, we will be hosting a Park[ing] Day LA Workshop on Santa Monica Blvd. We'll be using the Greensters to transpo supplies to the location (9am load-in, 9:30 ride, 10am arrival) where we will install a simple and basic temporary park on the south side of SM Blvd." [Curbed InBox]
