A $7 million facelift to the Sunset Strip—meaning road and sidewalk resurfacing, and improved landscaping for the boulevard—is imminent, reports the WeHo News. The feds are kicking in a million from the economic stimulus package to pretty up Sunset, which will be a much more modest makeover than the one that transformed Santa Monica Boulevard a few years back. Sounds like the work will be mostly cosmetic—WeHo News reports that Sunset remains in good structural condition even though the street hasn't been repaved since LA County replaced the dirt road with concrete in the '30s.
