DOWNTOWN: More about that Habitat for Humanity fundraiser taking place this Saturday: Called Unfrozen Music, the program is the brainchild of a graphic artist named Craig Shimohara. Shimohara selected from tens of architects and designers who competed for the chance to exhibit their closet musical skills. Host Frances Anderton tells us "surprise talents include Alice Kimm as a mean piano player who will play in a chamber music ensemble that also includes digital whizz Doris Sung. And some Orange County designers, all Filipino, who play the 'Filipino Boogie Woogie.'" More info via the official site. [Curbed Staff]
DOWNTOWN: Via the Inbox, more of a push to finally plant all those damn trees. "In celebration of the two-year anniversary of the opening of the downtown Ralphs Los Angeles supermarket, Ralphs members will be joined by dozens of volunteers, the Office of Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa, Million Trees LA, the Central City Association of Los Angeles and the Downtown Center Business Improvement District (DCBID), to plant 27 trees in downtown Los Angeles. The event will take place at the downtown Ralphs Store this Saturday, 9 am." [Curbed Inbox]
