Via the Pasadena Star-News: "The [County Board of Supervisors] is expected to vote today on an ordinance banning smoking in county parks, beaches and other public places. The proposal also includes county facilities managed by contractors, such as public golf courses." Sorry, golfers. Tough month. The ban, proposed by Supervisor Zev Yaroslavsky, would take effect in 30 days. "It will also turn offenses into misdemeanors that may include fines or short jail time, officials said."
