Giant salad spinner? Salad of knowledge, maybe. This is the new William H. Hannon Library at Loyola Marymount University, which just had its big opening this past weekend. The library is designed by AECOM, the global architecture firm that's also behind downtown's new LAPD headquarters. Per a description from the architecture firm's web site: "The 88,000 sq. ft., four-story building was designed to tie together the campus and provide visual order to the disparate elements of the nearby buildings." The Daily Breeze toured the library and reports the building cost $63 million, and that the library is open to the public during daytime hours.
