Beating out Michael Moore's planned efforts, "American Casino" is the latest documentary to trace, as the New York Times reports, the recent economic meltdown, a journey that began "on Wall Street and ends....in Southern Calfornia." Yes, the money shot in this film, a sort of "Smartest Guys in the Room" documentary that "chronicles the greed and carelessness that characterized that produced the financial meltdown" is footage of those festering, mosquito-filled swimming pools in Riverside County, according to the paper.
