William Gibson, geek hero, author and futurist (who coined the term "cyberspace") may have a second career as an urban planner. After David Byrne took an embarrassing stab at urban theory yesterday, today we encounter two architect's theoretical plan to transform the de-commissioned sections of SF's Bay Bridge into parks and a neighborhood, a la the "Bridge City" in Gibson's novel Virtual Light. The dude has been pretty prescient before, so we won't immediately discount this one as crazy. After all, he foresaw YouTube. [Future of Metro]
