The Los Angeles Business Journal points out some of the chops underway at the city's private social clubs, some of which are seeing declining numbers given the economy: "A membership with access to the downtown Jonathan Club typically pays $7,500 in initiation fees and $325 in monthly dues. However, a recently launched special available to the first 100 applicants lowers the initiation fee to $2,009 and monthly dues to $200." [LABJ]
