A reader pointed out that the streamline moderne home in Silver Lake with the sweeping staircase made the unusual move of actually increasing its asking price, after a price chop a few months ago. Originally listed at $1.795 million when it went on the market in March, it looked like the owner was trying to recoup the $1.8 million she paid in May 2007. Then by May it had dropped to $1.695 million. Now the four bedroom, four-and-a-half bath house is listed again for $1.84 million. Certainly an unusual move in this economy. A call to the broker, Rosemary Low, revealed that a second lot, located adjacent to the property and previously listed separately, is now included in the new price. Additionally, the house is now in escrow, but Low declined to comment on the details of the sale. Priceupper mystery solved.
