West Hollywood Eric Owen Moss Hotel Goes Forward

New, 18 comments

A little late in reporting this, but despite a recommendation from West Hollywood city planners to deny approval of that Eric Owen Moss-designed hotel for the corner of Sunset and Doheny (9040 Sunset Blvd), just the opposite happened. On August 6th, Planning Commission directed planners to bring back resolutions approving the project, according to Planning Manager John Keho, who says that commission will vote on the resolutions in October. Then the full City Council will weigh in. We pointed out to Keho that some people (including Curbed commenters) didn't think the project was aesthetically pleasing. "The Planning Commission felt the project was appropriate," says Keho. "They felt the architecture was good, and that the project would help revitalize the Western end of Sunset."
