In bike news, the Blackburn & Sweetzer blog takes note of the Mid-City West Community Council (read: Fairfax District) recommendations for the citywide bike plan that is currently being updated (and is months late). The council's board of directors suggests bicycle lanes for Fairfax, San Vicente, Burton Way (love it), and proposes bicycle routes (bike-friendly commuting streets that are marked with signs and road markings) for 4th Street (already a route), Beverly Blvd. (ok), and 6th Street—a frightening prospect considering how this street turns into a curvy, breakneck speedway all hours save for the morning and afternoon commutes. The new bike lanes on Myra seem like a much safer bet. [Blackburn & Sweetzer/Streetsblog]
