Redefining Preservation

New, 3 comments

Today the LA Times shares more of Charles Munger's vision for the future of his Barry Building (Last month we found out he had new plans to tear the Brentwood Historic-Cultural Monument down and rebuild it as a two-story open-air market.): he "proposes to raze the building, put parking below, then construct a two-story complex in the same style but three times the size of the original." At least part of that space will probably be dedicated to storage for Munger's enormous chutzpah reserves, because he says of the plan, "Applicants are unable to recall any greater victory for historic preservation in the entire history of the city."
