High Speed Rail's Latest Lawsuit

New, 46 comments

While it's been smooth sailing so far in Southern California, the high speed rail project continues to attract grumblings and some lawsuits by Northern Californian worry worts and busy bodies. A Menlo Park man has sued to stop the train based on some sort of jurisdictional conflict with Union Pacific Railroad. However, he elaborates on his motives: "I seriously think the voters didn't know what they passed," [Russell] Peterson said. "I want (the high-speed rail authority) to explain to the public what it is and what it's going to cost. They don't seem to have a budget, and, worse, they don't seem to have answers as to how they're going to get a budget." [Mercury News]
