The latest dish from Eater LA, Curbed's hedonistic eating and drinking site...
DOWNTOWN: Holy Gorbals! Opening in the bottom of the Alexandria Hotel, Top Chef season two winner Ilan Hall opened the doors to the critics last night. Mac n cheese, rarebit, and more. Report and pictures follow.
DOWNTOWN: LA Live gets a new addition today, NYC's Rosa Mexicano. "Known for its modern take on Mexican fare, RM will serve up the classics that include frozen flavored margaritas, tableside guac, plus other modern Mexican dishes like short ribs with a tomatillo sauce and Mexican peppers." Tasty.
ALHAMBRA: The economy is now killing innocent dim sum. Via the LA Times, news that David Gong's The Kitchen didn't survive past the two year mark.
HOLLYWOOD: Yet another attempt to open in the strange space at 8226 W. Sunset, aka the old Wacky Waffles. Michael Gans will look to put the The Den of Hollywood in the space in a few weeks. Look for an American menu that will include burgers, fish and chips, and an "upscale bar food" menu.
