When Schindler's Van Dekker residence in Woodland Hills hit the market in January for just under a million dollars, yet was clearly a fixer, we feared it might become a tear-down. And it still mght be, despite a major pricechop. The 2,300 square foot house on almost half an acre features four bedrooms and four baths, "tightly interlocking volumes, folded planes, asymmetrical copper roof, sloping walls & ceilings, polygonal windows, butt-glazed corners, exposed wood interiors, flagstone patios & fireplaces." The house is going to need a very specific type of buyer, since the listing notes "MAJOR repairs are required to preserve this historic landmark for future generations." Perhaps the new listing price makes that possibility more attractive: $695,000 or $276 per square foot. Full photoset is here. UPDATE: Oops. Yes, this post looks familiar.
