A reader wrote in with this snapshot of a new home constructed on Sweetzer: I just saw this monstrosity, between beverly and rosewood. WT(flying)F?? There are a lot of ugly *old* houses in LA, but this has got to be one of the ugliest *new* houses I've EVER seen." We hope this bifurcated faux-Tuscan by way of Andrew Lloyd Webber takes the "Phanton of the Opera" theme indoors too. We're thinking giant candelabras, grand staircase, maybe an organ or two. A torture chamber in the basement? At least the Phantom had the good sense to hide his disfigurement.
