CurbedWire: Silver Lake Query, River GlenGate Continued

New, 14 comments

SILVER LAKE: Someone needs their plaque. This is mysterious, and perhaps there's a reward. Via the Inbox: "I hope you folks can help with a question. Before the Bert-Co Graphics building [at 1855 Glendale Blvd] was torn down, there was an obelisk at the site dedicated to Mack Sennett, whose studios were across the street (at what is now the Public Storage facility). Do you know if it is still there, and if not, what happened to the obelisk and plaque? It was done about 1954 by the television show This Is Your Life on the property, then owned by National Van Lines." [Curbed InBox]

ATWATER VILLAGE: River GlenGate continues. Via Atwater Village News: "Councilmember Tom Labonge and/or representatives from CD4 will be at the August 13th, 2009 Atwater Village Neighborhood Council (AVNC) to discuss the renaming of Atwater’s northern industrial area to “River Glen." You'll recall there was some unhappiness about the new name for this area. [Curbed InBox]
