Not far from the 210, this 1958 John Lautner-designed home in Sunland-Tujunga is known as the Hatherall House. The four-bedroom, three-bath house built on three acres on a private road, features a round great room, with lightweight steel trusses for roof support. (Is it just us, or does it look strikingly similar to Lautner's earlier Harvey House?) The house was constructed of concrete block, and the living area pens to a courtyard that is walled on three sides for privacy. The master bedroom has a moving wall to close it to the living room. There's also a patio, pool, den, study, workshop and guest room. Supposedly, when the house was built, it had solar collectors operating 80 percent of the time and radiant floor heating, but it's not known if the house is still so energy efficient. The house was last sold in 2000 for $879,000 (prior sale was in April 1992 for $443,181). Today's asking price: $1.595 million or $439 per square foot.
