Long Beach Jumps In

New, 2 comments

Press-Telegram reports the Long Beach will also jump in and sue the state over loss of its re-development funds. "In a brief special meeting Monday afternoon, the Long Beach City Council unanimously approved a resolution authorizing the city attorney to cooperate with the League of California Cities, the California Redevelopment Association and other entities in litigation against the state....[the budget cuts] would mean a $30 million hit to Long Beach's Redevelopment Agency, city officials have said. The take-away would more than halve the RDA's $58 million discretionary and set-aside funds, which the RDA must use for affordable housing." Last week, CRA/LA's threatened legal action over loss of funds. [PT]
