VENICE: Eater tracks two upcoming spots on Abbot Kinney. The owners of Hal's have taken over the Tortilla Grill space and a new Mexican place, Casa Linda (pictured), should be opening in about three weeks. And the owners of The Otherroom plan to open a take-out only deli next door, to be called Local (and not to be confused with the Silver lake spot of the same name).

HOLLYWOOD: The transformation of Victor's Liquor and Delicatessen near Bronson Canyon into The Oaks Gourmet Market is almost complete, and should be open in two to three weeks. Expect both indoor and outdoor patio seating; 55 beers; 350 wines; over 60 different cheeses; and a partridge in the pear tree.

HOLLYWOOD: From the people behind Sushi Roku, the soon-to-open W in Hollywood is getting a French restaurant, Delphine Brasserie. Expect a Decemberish opening.

DOWNTOWN: Eater provides some plywood shots of Top Chef winner Ilan Hall's upcoming (and unfortunately named) restaurant, the Gorbals. Designed by architect Jason King, most of the space has been gutted, but the stained glass windows, moldings and marble floors remain. Expect wines under $40 and small plates for $15 and less.
