WEST 3RD STREET: Check out the latest retail work from Abramson Teiger Architects. Ground broke this week on their new complex at 8231-8243 West 3rd. When this one is cooked, the building will contain 2 levels of above-ground parking over ground floor retail space. Up and adam, cars. It should be finished next year. No word yet on who is moving in.
DOWNTOWN: Seems like it was just yesterday that non-downtowners were complaining downtown smelled like pee and there was nothing to do. How things have changed. Get ready for the first-ever Downtown Fashion Walk, an event that seems to be taking a page from the success of Art Walk. It'll be held Thursday, August 20th and go through the region bordered by 4th, 7th, Broadway and Main streets.
LOS ANGELES: Can't afford Opening Ceremony? Maybe you can afford its sibling, Opening Ceremony Accessories. According to Racked, the store will sell "jewelry, bags, shoes" and more. And nice use of a former space: "The Little House of Accessories is located right next door to the main store, in what used to be a branch of Enterprise Rent-a-Car."
