The latest dish from Eater LA, Curbed's hedonistic eating and drinking blog...
DOWNTOWN: Cedd Moses continues his downtown domination with yet another bar, his ninth. Opening across the street from Cole's in late 2009/early 2010 this one will be a tequila and mezcal tasting room called Las Perlas (pictured).
VENICE: Fans of Gjelina on Abbot Kinney, rejoice in the news that chef and owner Travis Lett is planning to open a new restaurant upstairs. Except this one will be a "vegetable-based" restaurant for non-vegetarians. Will Lett inspire rapturous odes to vegetarian food that way Ubuntu does up north?
DOWNTOWN: The neighborhood seems to have plenty of wine bars now, but what's lacking? Dessert. Opening later this month in the Hayward Hotel is Syrup Desserts. Expect coffee drinks, waffles, crepes, and gelato for now, with plans to serve sandwiches and salads down the line.
