Cultural Heritage Ordinance Decision Delayed - Again

New, 3 comments

2009-07-hcmProposed revisions to the city's Cultural Heritage Ordinance, which has been controversial from the get-go, went before the Planning Commission yesterday and the verdict is...delayed. This is the second time the Planning Commission has deferred action on the proposal. At issue this time: clarifying the language for "the designation of the interiors of residential properties." The new ordinance, if approved, will grant the Cultural Heritage Commission the ability to deny, not just temporarily delay, the demolition of Historic-Cultural Monuments. The Planning Commission will once again review the proposed amendments on September 10th. [Office of Historic Resources]
