Updated 7/20/11 2:37 pm: If you have royal aspirations and $30,000 a month to drop on rent, have we got a place for you. The seven-bedroom, six-bathroom Hollywood Castle, built in 1974, is available for filming and short- and long-term rentals, and they are not joking about the "castle" part. The home (address removed at the request of the owner) has an honest to goodness moat and turrets, and is decorated with medieval staples like suits of armor, swords, and hawks (they probably forgot to mention the oubliette in the listing). "We do a lot of videos and still photography [here]," Adam Friedman, one of the owners, tells us. Friedman says his dad, who has since passed away, built the home in 1974. "He built it because he always had a dream to have a castle." Meanwhile, the one-acre lot has a grotto, ponds, waterfalls, and a gazebo. Bonus: parts of Tom Petty's "Into the Great Wide Open" video were shot here, which means Johnny Depp has touched it.
