Brad Pitt's Make it Right Foundation, whose goal is to sustainably redevelop New Orleans's Lower Ninth Ward, released 14 duplex plans today, and Architectural Record has the designs. This release follows a set of single-family designs from 2007. As we've noted before, a few Los Angeles area-based architecture firms, Gehry Partners, Kappe Architects, and Pugh + Scarpa, have contributed proposals. Architectural Record writes, "For the most part, the designs sport flexible floor plans, forge a close relationship with street life, and integrate outdoor and landscaped spaces with architecture." Groundbreakings are expected to start as soon as August. [Architectural Record]
